The Toronto City Council votes 36-0 in favour of indiscriminate beatings, unlawful arrest and harrassment, sexual assault, and aiding and abetting the destruction of private property.
Councillor Rob Ford (who can be reached at 416-397-9255): "Our police were too nice."
Tell that to the young women who were strip-searched by those "nice" male officers, had fingers stuck in their vaginas, and were threatened with gang rape. At least one of the women who were assaulted was underage.
Well the police were faced with a difficult job during the G20 summit, you know like watching and doing absolutely nothing whileblac bloc protestors torched a couple of police cars and tore up the business district for an hour and a half on Saturday. I guess it must have been difficult for them to arrest enough peaceful protest to insure that they all got a crack at trampling charter rights. The public just doesn't understand the police or our role in the system, you know the role of targets.
